The University of Oklahoma is on a Semester credit-hour system. Student must complete a minimum of 40 hours of general education approved coursework as outlined by the college and the university. Junior College Transfer Students: Students transferring from a junior college may use the transferred credit to meet certain lower-division course requirements only; that is, freshman and sophomore-level courses. The College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree to students at campuses throughout the state of Oklahoma. Graduates of the program receive a BSN degree and are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination- RN (NCLEX-RN) for licensure as a registered nurse. Undergraduates completing this degree program will take coursework and field experiences that prepares teachers to work with students with mild to moderate disabilities such as specific learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia) as well as students with a mild/moderate form of autism, intellectual disability, behavior or other health impairment. The four-year Bachelor of Science in Special Education consists of 124 semester hours of courses (not including remedial coursework or the two required semesters of college-level Foreign Language coursework), field experiences, and two student teaching internships. The Degree Completion (RN to BSN) program is a flexible degree program for registered nurses who want to earn a bachelors degree in nursing in as little as two semesters.
