Division 01

Edible Oils

Data Group has pressed edible oil in Rajasthan since 1978. Seven consumer brands — Scooter, Ashoka, Ritika, Sutr, Scooty, Mast Health and Shiv Classic — are produced by five group companies: at Khairthal, at Mansar Khedi in Jaipur district, and at the Old Industrial Area in Alwar.

Mustard, and everything that followed

The Group began with a single mustard oil plant at Khairthal in 1978. Mustard remains the core — kachchi ghani, cold-pressed in the traditional way, and the pungency that comes with it. The division now also refines rice bran, groundnut and soyabean oil, and cold-presses seven more — groundnut, sesame, coconut, flaxseed, kalonji and almond among them — for its Sutr range.

Everything is pressed, refined and packed at the Group's own plants, close to the mustard belt that supplies it. That proximity is the reason the Group can be specific about grade and provenance in a market where most oil changes hands several times before it is bottled.

Exports

Beyond the bottle.

Crushing mustard produces two things: oil, and the meal left behind. That meal — de-oiled cake — is a protein-rich feed and fertiliser input, and India is one of its largest suppliers. The Group exports de-oiled cake and other agricultural commodities alongside its consumer oil business.

Shree Hari Agro Industries Ltd. is a Three Star Export House — recognised by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, valid to March 2028. It received the State Export Award from the Government of Rajasthan in 2022, and in December 2025 the Gold Trophy in the Northern Region Export Excellence Awards from the Federation of Indian Export Organisations. Exports are led by Mr. Deepak Data, Joint Managing Director.

About our oils

Who manufactures Scooter Mustard Oil?
Scooter Mustard Oil, Grade I and Grade II, is made under a trademark registered to Vijay Industries, Khairthal — a Data Group company. Vijay Industries opened the Group’s first mustard oil plant at Khairthal in 1978.
Who makes Ashoka edible oil?
Ashoka is made by Shree Hari Agro Industries Ltd., the Data Group company at Mansar Khedi, incorporated in 1995. The range covers refined rice bran, groundnut and soyabean oils and kachchi ghani mustard oil, and is sold through Reliance, Amazon, Flipkart and Udaan.
What is multi source edible oil?
Multi source edible vegetable oil is the term Indian food regulations use for a blend of two or more edible oils — the same thing a label may call blended edible oil. The ratio must be declared and has to hold from batch to batch. Data Group sells multi source oil as Scooty, Mast Health and Shiv Classic. Blending is done at Babulal Edible Oils in Alwar, the Group’s only plant licensed for it.
Where are Data Group’s edible oil plants?
In three places in Rajasthan: Khairthal, where the Group began in 1978; Mansar Khedi in Jaipur district, where Shree Hari Agro Industries makes Ashoka; and the Old Industrial Area at Alwar, shared by Saurabh Agrotech, Ritika Vegetable Oil and Babulal Edible Oils.
What is the difference between Grade I and Grade II mustard oil?
They are Agmark quality grades. Grade I meets the tighter specification on parameters such as acid value and refractive index; Grade II is the next grade down. Both are Agmark certified. Data Group produces Scooter Mustard Oil in both grades.
Does Data Group export?
Yes. Shree Hari Agro Industries Ltd. holds Three Star Export House status from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, valid to March 2028, and exports de-oiled cake and other agricultural commodities. It received the State Export Award from the Government of Rajasthan in 2022, and the Gold Trophy in the Federation of Indian Export Organisations’ Northern Region Export Excellence Awards in December 2025.
What is de-oiled cake?
De-oiled cake is the meal left after oil is extracted from mustard seed. It is protein-rich and used as animal feed and as a fertiliser input. India is among the world’s largest suppliers, and it is one of the commodities Data Group exports.
How long has Data Group been making edible oil?
Since 1978, when Babulal Data opened the first mustard oil plant at Khairthal in Alwar district — forty-eight years of continuous operation by the same family.
